Retirement of Non-Executive Director at BlueScope Steel Ltd.
04/07/2015 - BlueScope Steel Ltd. announces the retirement of Deputy Chairman, Ron McNeilly, with effect from today.
Chairman, Graham Kraehe, paid tribute to Mr McNeilly’s contribution during his service on the Board since the demerger of BlueScope from BHP Billiton in 2002. “Ron McNeilly was a foundation Board member of BlueScope and has played an important role through a period of great change in the global steel industry when the Company has grown its international businesses significantly and transformed its Australian business to meet a range of challenging external factors. Mr McNeilly has provided leadership and support to me in his role as Deputy Chair and his knowledge of the steel industry and markets is greatly valued by all members of the Board. He has also made significant contribution as a member of all Board Committees and as Chair of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee from 2004 until 2012. On behalf of the Board, I wish Ron well in his future endeavours.”
The retirement of Mr McNeilly is a further step in the Board’s previously announced renewal program.
