Republic Achieves ISO Environmental Certification at Hamilton Plant
12/30/2004 - Republic Engineered Products, Inc. announced that its plant in Hamilton, Ont., has been certified to the ISO 14001 environmental standard. The Hamilton facility—Republic Canadian Drawn Inc.—became part of Republic in January 2004.

All of Republic's other facilities have also been awarded recertification of their environmental management systems to the ISO 14001 standard. This certification, effective until November 2007, was assessed by ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.
Maintaining ISO 14001 certification is important to Republic's continuing relationships with the automotive industry, other customers and plant communities.
"An effective environmental management system is imperative and we are pleased to now have all of our plants certified to the ISO 14001 standard," said Leonard Wisniewski, Republic's Director of Environmental Affairs. "It assures our commitment to environmental compliance and provides the focus for maintaining continual improvement in all our facilities."
Republic Engineered Products, Inc. is one of North America's largest suppliers of special bar quality (SBQ) steel, a highly engineered product used in axles, drive trains, suspensions and other critical components of automobiles, off-highway vehicles and industrial equipment.
