Metinvest Holding announced in recent days that it is suspending operations for seven days.
 
“Azovstal will suspend its operations in coke shop, recovery and desulfurization shop, blast furnace shop, BOF shop, plate mill, rail and structural mill, lime shop, and slag processing shop,” the company said in a press release. “MMKI will suspend operations at the sinter plant, blast furnace and BOF shops, 1700 HSM and 3000 plate mill, and the cold rolling mill. The production suspension will continue for seven days. The decision on further operation of the enterprises will be made based on how the situation develops.”
 
In a press release Tuesday, Metinvest declared force majeure.
 
According to Metal Miner, ArcelorMittal said via Twitter “that it would slow production to a technical minimum” at its Kryvyi Rih plant and halt production at its underground mines at the site.

ArcelorMittal confirmed in a press release today that it has made the decision to idle its steelmaking operations in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, "in order to ensure the safety and security of our people and assets." The process to idle the blast furnaces Began today and is expected to take between 7 and 10 days.
