Report: Trump Won’t Put Tariff on Brazilian Steel
12/23/2019 - The Trump administration won’t impose a 25% tariff on Brazilian steel and aluminum, the country’s president has said, according to The Hill newspaper.
“He decided not to make good on his plan to impose tariffs on our steel/aluminum,” Jair Bolsonaro wrote on Facebook following a call with U.S. President Donald Trump, The Hill reported.
Trump earlier this month said he would impose the tariff on Brazilian and Argentinian steel, but a top White House official later said no decisions had been made.
