Report: Nippon Steel Looking for Advice on Splitting Brazil's Usiminas
08/24/2016 - Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. is looking for help on drafting plans to split Brazil’s Usiminas between itself and Usiminas’ other controlling shareholder, Techint Group, reports the Reuters news service.
Nippon Steel and Techint have been at odds over the direction of Usiminas, and a break-up of the company has been a possibility. Reuters said Nippon Steel is looking for financial and legal advisers to help with engineering a split.
