Report: Consortium Bids EUR1.6 Billion for Europe's Largest Steel Works
03/17/2017 - ArcelorMittal and partner Marcegaglia are offering 1.6 billion euros for Italy's Ilva steel works, outbidding a rival consortium, reports the Reuters news service.
Citing three anonymous sources with direct knowledge of the bids, Reuters said the offer is more than the EUR1.2 billion India’s JSW Steel and its partners have offered. ArcelorMittal's bid is in addition to the EUR2.3 billion it already has promised to invest in the facility. The JSW consortium, meanwhile, offered to invest EUR3 billion in the facility, Reuters said.
