Refractories Maker Opens Russian Plant
04/16/2018 - Ohio-based refractories manufacturer Allied Mineral Products Inc. has initiated production at its newest facility in Yelabuga, Russia, the company said in an announcement.
Allied Mineral executives said the facility will serve the Russian foundry and aluminum markets, but later, broader industrial markets. Executives also said the facility builds on groundwork already laid by Allied Mineral Europe, its affiliate in the Netherlands. Allied Mineral Europe has been selling into Russia for 13 years.
“Our success could not have been accomplished without a significant amount of time and effort by many people and departments within Allied,” said John Halsted, executive vice president of international and affiliated companies.
The company said Russia is the world’s fifth-largest foundry market by castings produced.
