Rebar from ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Used to Construct New Stadium in Lviv

PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” supplied 20,000 tonnes of reinforcing bar for the construction of the new sports complex Arena Lviv, at which the final part of the European football championship Euro-2012 will take place. Rebar of standard sizes (with diameters 8, 10, 12, 32 mm) were used for the reinforcing of concrete structures of the foundation and stadium cup.
 
During the run-up to the European Football Championship Euro-2012, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih production was used in the construction of other key facilities in Ukraine such as the Lviv airport, the new terminal of the international airport Boryspil (Kyiv), and the National Sports Complex "Olympiysky," which opened Oct. 8, 2011, in Kiev.
 
Arena Lviv is one of eight stadiums where the UEFA EURO 2012 event will take place. The stadium, construction of which began in 2008, is designed to accommodate 32,767 spectators, with a total area of 243,226 m².
 
The opening ceremony of the sports complex was held on Oct. 29, 2011.
