Rautaruukki Wins Supply Contract in Russia

Rautaruukki Oyj has signed a contract with Oris LLC to supply steel frame and cladding structures for the company's first oriented strand board (OSB) production plant in Russia. The contract is valued at almost EUR 12 million.
 
Rautaruukki make deliveries of frame and cladding structures in beginning in August and continuing through November 2008. The steel structures will be made at Ruukki's plant in Obninsk.
 
Oris, the largest oriented strand board manufacturer in Russia, will start production at the new premises in February 2010.
 
“We chose Ruukki as our partner because they have extensive experience in designing steel frame and cladding structures. Also their delivery reliability and product quality influenced our choice,” said Frank G. Baylow, Managing Director of Oris LLC.
 
The new Oris plant will be located in Vostochny, about 200 kilometers to the northeast of Moscow.
 
Ruukki is one of the leading steel structure suppliers in Russia. The company also has a steel service center in St Petersburg and another under construction in Obninsk, as well as sales offices in Moscow, St Petersburg and at a number of growth centers in Russia. Ruukki has around 2100 employees in Russia.
