AK Steel has been named to Quality magazine's list of the Top 100 companies in quality.

According to Quality magazine, the companies included in the Top 100 list are "impressive companies that lead their respective industries." The magazine adds, "They all have made substantial investments in quality technology and people. They reach out to their customers, suppliers and employees to improve their product and their processes. These are some of the leaders in producing quality products around the world."

AK Steel is the only integrated steelmaker included on the list, which was published in the magazine's September 2004 edition. All of AK Steel's steelmaking plants hold ISO/TS 16949 certification, the stringent international quality management system standard, as well as a number of customer quality awards.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
