PTI Supplies Bottom Stirring System to Lloyds Steel
04/13/2011 - Process Technology International has supplied a bottom stirring nitrogen/argon control system for RHI porous plugs serving two 90-tonne EAFs located at Lloyds Steel in Warhda, India.
Process Technology International, Inc. (PTI) has supplied Lloyds Steel with a bottom stirring nitrogen/argon control system for RHI porous plugs serving two 90-tonne EAFs at the company’s plant in Warhda, India.
Lloyds Steel recently switched to a charge mix of 50% hot metal and 50% DRI. The new PTI bottom stirring control system communicates with the previously installed PTI chemical energy system.
The PTI furnace control system integrates bottom stirring and the oxygen injection system for optimum charging and mixing of the liquid pool during the melting and refining of the steel.
