Under the project, SMS group will equip the mill with new level 1 and level 2 automation, new main and auxiliary drives, and a low-voltage power distribution system for the finishing mill.

The mill was originally built by SMS group in 1983. It consists of one roughing stand, six finishing stands and two downcoilers. It has an annual production capacity of 2.4 million tons.

The order follows the successful commissioning of the plant’s No. 2 hot strip mill.
