In an announcement, Primetals said the new caster will have a machine radius of 12 m and a metallurgical length of 20 m. It will cast squares in dimensions of 145 mm and 195 mm, and later, 350 mm. 

It will run a variety of steel grades, including austenitic and martensitic heat resistant steels, tool and die steels, ferritic, martensitic and austenitic stainless steels, and other special steels, Primetals said. 

Primetals will supply the equipment and process engineering, along with the basic and detail engineering. Start-up is scheduled to take place in late 2018.
