Primetals Technologies Tapped to Supply Bar Rolling Mill in Pakistan
08/30/2021 - According to the equipment supplier, Pak Steel has ordered a bar rolling mill at a site in the Hattar Special Economic Zone (HSEZ), in Khyber Pakhthunkwa province, Pakistan.
The concrete reinforcement steel bar mill is intended to enlarge Pak Steel’s footprint in regional infrastructure projects.
The mill will produce rebar in diameter ranging from 8 to 40 mm with a capacity of 450,000 metric tons per year. Commissioning is scheduled for late 2022.
Pak Steel was established in 1949 in Rawalpindi area and has a current annual production capacity of 200,000 metric tons. According to Primetals Technologies, this expansion project will boost the yearly production capacity to 650,000 metric tons.
