The new EAF increases flexibility and reliability of the facility, while also reducing the energy consumption and maintenance requirements, the company said. It is a part of ATI’s planned updates to its specialty rolled products business.

According to a press release, the furnace is also designed to process a range of input materials and will replace equipment coming to the end of its useful life.
