Primetals Technologies Receives Order for Blast Furnace Staves
01/21/2020 - Primetals Technologies will supply a number of cast iron staves that will be used in the rebuild of a Taiwanese blast furnace.
In a statement, Primetals Technologies said final delivery of the staves – nine rows in all – is set for June. The staves will make up part of a new cooling system on the No.2 furnace at China Steel Corp.’s Kaohsiung plant.
The project marks the third rebuild of the furnace, and the project aims to extend its lifetime by an additional 18 years, Primetals Technologies said.
The rebuilt furnace is to be blown in sometime early next year.
