According to project contractor Primetals Technologies, the wet electrostatic precipitator system is capable of reducing dust emissions to approximately 5 mg per cubic meter. 

Primetals Technologies said the system is situated between an existing wet-type gas cleaning plant and the induced draft (ID) fan.

“One main advantage of this configuration is that the old gas cleaning plant can remain unchanged as all the deep cleaning down to the required emission limit is done in the electrostatic precipitator. At the same time, maintenance requirements for the ID fan, such as regular manual cleaning and rebalancing, are greatly reduced as the offgas is already ultraclean when entering the ID fan.”
