The project involved redesigning the upper and lower vessels and installing new anodes. The upgrades now make it possible to operate the furnace with a hot metal content of up to 90%.

Primetals Technologies was responsible for engineering, manufacturing and supplying essential components, as well as monitoring the installation and commissioning work.
