Primetals Technologies Awarded Contract for Wire Rod Mill
04/08/2020 - China’s HBIS Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. expects to start a new wire rod mill in the Hebei province late this year, reports mill equipment maker Primetals Technologies.
According to Primetals Technologies, the new mill will allow for production of carbon steel products with improved tolerances and mechanical properties. The mill will have a nameplate capacity of 400,000 metric tons annually and is designed for output speeds of 115 m/second.
It will roll 150-mm and 200-mm square billet into rods ranging from 5 mm to 25 mm, Primetals Technologies said.
