Praxair China to Supply Combustion Technology for Shandong Guangfu EAF

Shandong Guangfu Group Co., Ltd. has awarded a combustion equipment contract to Praxair (China) Investment Co. Ltd. for the implementation of Praxair’s proprietary oxy-fuel technology.
 
Under the contract, Praxair will install one gas injection system, including three oxygen gas injectors and other related equipment, at Shandong Guangfu Group’s 100-tonne electric arc furnace (EAF).
 
“It’s very encouraging to see our combustion technology adopted by a new customer in North China region, after its successful applications in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Hubei provinces over the past decade, benefiting our steel customers in these regions,” said Dr. Minda Ho, President of Praxair China. “We have full confidence in rapid and smooth replications of the technology in China in the years to come that will provide effective support to the productivity improvement, energy efficiency and environmental protection endeavors of Chinese steel companies.”
 
According to Praxair, the company’s technology enables steel and non-ferrous metal producers to experience improved operation safety and environmental protection, cost saving and increased productivity as compared to conventional lance systems.
