POSCO Wins 'World's Most Competitive Steelmaker' Award
06/18/2014 - POSCO received the "World's Most Competitive Steelmaker Award" for the fifth consecutive year from renowned steel market information provider World Steel Dynamics (WSD), the company said Tuesday.
The WSD assessed 36 steelmakers around the world in 23 categories,including productivity, profitability, technology innovation, humanresources, financial stability, procurement and cost-saving. The World-Class Steelmaker Rankings were announced during aWSD's meeting in New York City, Tuesday.
POSCO earned 7.91points on average, defeating its rivals, such asAmerican steelmaker Nucor, Japanese companies NSSMC and JFE, bya comfortable margin.
Hyundai Steel ranked ninth, joining the top 10 for the first time in its history.
