Posco Opens Office in Egypt
11/02/2010 - Posco recently opened its first African office in the Egyptian capital of Cairo. The company expects the Cairo office to play a vital role for its future business in Africa as the regional headquarters.
Posco recently opened its first African office in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
Posco Executive Vice President Shin Jung-seok said that the Cairo office will play a vital role for the company’s future business in Africa as the regional headquarters.
Among the more than 40 special guests in attendance were Jung-seok, Korean Ambassador to Egypt Yoon Jong-kon, and representatives from KOTRA, Hyundai Motor, Samsung Electronics, and Daewoo International.
As Posco’s flagship sales base in Africa, the Cairo office is expected to take on a significant role in the company’s global business due to “the enormous potential” of African markets.
Posco notes that Africa is rich in natural resources such as natural gas, petroleum, coal, and nickel, and that the continent is expected to experience economic growth for the next five years.
