POSCO Mill Recovering From Flood
09/13/2022 - POSCO has restarted the No. 2 and No. 4 blast furnaces at its Pohang Works after a typhoon flooded the plant last week.
POSCO said the furnaces were brought back on-line Monday along with steelmaking and continuous casting equipment, allowing it to produce semi-finished steel. However, the rolling line, which was most heavily damaged in flood caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor, remains down.
The company said it is shifting production to its Gwangyang facility to keep up with customer orders.
“POSCO will also sell its stocks to customers to meet their need for critical materials,” the company said.
