Posco Holds Tech Fair at Honda

Posco recently held a technology fair at Honda—the fourth such event for Japanese automakers going back to the Toyota fair in October 2009. The company also organized an exhibition for Suzuki in May and for Nissan earlier this month.

At the fair, Posco introduced various high-end auto parts made of its steel products, as well as its global sales network for car sheets. Displayed products included parts made of high-strength steel and twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel, motors made of electrical sheets, lightweight magnesium hoods, and wire rods for cars.

Posco’s technology was on display for about 650 visitors from Honda and part manufacturers.

Posco notes that technology executives from the two companies discussed measures for mutual cooperation in technology and agreed to work together to come up with early vendor involvement (EVI) tasks for the development of chassis and other parts using high-strength steel.
