Posco Tech Days were recently held at the headquarters of European automakers Renault and Fiat, at which the steel maker introduced its global network and steel technology as well as its contribution to environmental protection.

The company also displayed high-intensity steel sheets, next-generation lightweight materials for vehicles, and early vendor involvement to support car parts development. It provided detailed information on how to use each material technically through a seminar.

Posco presented parts made of high-intensity and TWIP steel sheets, steel sheets for electric vehicle motors, lightweight magnesium plates, wire rods, and an environmentally friendly car-body concept. Its family companies Posco Specialty Steel, Posco Steel, and Posco Chemtech also joined in the event to show their capacity in automotive materials.

The exhibition drew about 400 viewers, for two days, from the two automakers as well as their related companies. At the exhibition held at Fiat, about 10 executives from Fiat purchasing and technology departments attended and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive technology cooperation with Vice President Noi-ha Cho. Fiat agreed to work with Posco to develop a car body using high-intensity steel sheets.
