Posco Holds Groundbreaking for New Beijing Posco Center

Posco made concrete progress on the Beijing Posco Center, the company’s Chinese headquarters in Beijing.
 
The company recently held a groundbreaking ceremony at Dawang, Chaoyang, for the new Beijing headquarters. Some 150 guests attended the event, including CEO Chung Jun-yang and other Posco executives, as well as Korean Ambassador to China Ryu Woo-ik and leading figures in political and business circles.

Posco is planning to move all of its Beijing offices to the new building, including the headquarters of Posco China, Posco E&C, Posco ICT, Daewoo International and POSRI. The building will also house offices for POREKA, Posco Training Center and the Innovation Hub, which is expected to improve group synergy and association.

The Beijing Posco Center will comprise two towers containing 26 floors and 31 floors, respectively. It will be located in the Dawang district, a new district developed by the municipal government as an international business and science R&D complex. Posco has not maintained a headquarters in China since selling its Shanghai office in 2009. The Beijing Posco Center is scheduled to be completed by June 2014.
