Posco E&C Donates Sports Equipment to Cambodian School
08/24/2009 - The Cambodian branch of Posco E&C donates a basketball court, soccer goal, badminton set, and other sports equipment to Prek Ta Pring Elementary School of Kandal, on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.
The Cambodian branch of Posco E&C recently visited Prek Ta Pring Elementary School of Kandal, on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, to donate a basketball court, soccer goal, badminton set, and other sports equipment.
A ceremony held for the donation was attended by more than 200 guests, including Cambodian government officials, students, parents, and school faculty members.
Posco E&C employees also planted mango trees on the school grounds and helped even out the floor of the kindergarten building being constructed.
A school faculty member thanked the company, saying, “Posco’s sharing culture and the kind impression of Koreans will not be forgotten.”
The company is promoting an education support initiative that is helping to build schools for children living in impoverished areas in Cambodia and Vietnam. Further plans are underway to fund the construction of three kindergarten classrooms in Kandal by the end of October.
Posco E&C opened the local branch in Cambodia in 2007. It is currently promoting the construction of a residential complex in downtown Phnom Penh.
