POSCO Develops New Specialty Steel Pipes
10/21/2021 - POSCO has produced specialized steel pipes to transport hydrogen which make transportation of it safer, the company has announced.
The first of these new pipes will be supplied to Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, according to The Korea Herald. Until recently, the hydrogen transportation pipes were smaller and not as wide, at only 15 cm.
According to POSCO, the pipes are wider in diameter — up to 20 cm — and can withstand temperatures as low as –45°C.
