Posco A&C Introduces Smart Workplace in Seoul

02/24/2011 - Posco A&C has established a Smart Workplace pilot project as part of an initiative to promote efficiency, communication and collaboration. The new office space features state-of-the-art information technology and eco-friendly furniture.

Posco A&C has established Smart Workplace pilot project on the 24th floor of the Posco Center. The Smart Workplace, an initiative to promote efficiency, communication and collaboration, features state-of-the-art information technology and eco-friendly furniture.

Prior to developing the Smart Workplace, Posco visited smart offices in Norway, Denmark and other European countries with high work productivity to study flexible seating, rest space and other aspects to benchmark a convenient work environment.
 
The company designed its Smart Workplace to reflect the unique attributes of the HR Innovation division which is based on three concepts: immersion; communication/collaboration; and learning/creativity. The office features flexible seating, allowing employees to choose their seats, as well as SNS and video conferencing systems that help to reduce face-to-face reporting and overseas travel costs.

A small space was dedicated to create a library, where employees share books and reading material. Employees can also share information and ideas with other team members at the Open Bar.

The workspace creation project adopted a fast-track method, which applies a consistent concept spanning from design to construction, ultimately reducing cost and time.

Posco A&C is planning to build on its smart office construction experience to become a total service provider in this field.
