The hot rolling department at Posco’s Gwangyang Steel Works recently hosted a two-day technology-exchange event with Nippon Steel Corp.
According to the company, the event was designed to create synergy between the two companies by sharing new technologies with each other, especially in the field of production.
Participants exchanged opinions about each company’s work processes, with a focus on new production technologies, including “No Touch Operation,” as well as increased productivity.
The program included a workshop on recent improvement projects at both companies, which was followed by a discussion session for young engineers.
The event also featured presentations by working-level officials and engineers, and was said to have been satisfactory for both companies.
Posco said the companies plan to expand their partnership on technical areas in follow-up meetings.
