Polish Rebar Producer Taps Danieli Spooler Line, Light-Section Mill
07/01/2022 - Danieli announced this week that rebar, merchant and quality steel bar producer Cognor has selected the company to supply a new spooler line and a new light section mill at its bar mill in Krakow, Poland.
The spooler line will produce compact rebars-in-coil up to 3.5 tons, from 8 to 20 mm. It will include a 4-pass fast-finishing block, quenching water cooling boxes and two coiling machines, as well as finishing services.
Two new roughing stands will be installed between the existing reheating furnace and rolling mill.
The new light-section mill will produce a range of profiles for a total of 450,000 tons per year of finished material.
A new walking beam reheating furnace will feed an 18-housingless-stand rolling mill with 160-mm square billets. The layout of the rolling mill will allow the installation of two more roughing stands at the continuous mill head.
The spooler line is scheduled be operational by the end of 2022, with the light-section mill coming on-line by the end of 2023.
