Plain Dealer: GrafTech International Opens New Factory
08/21/2013 - GrafTech, International, the Parma-based global maker of huge electrodes for steel making, has ramped up its entry into precision products for electronics, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The company has opened a new production plant in Medina County that is geared primarily to produce ultra-thin heat absorbing graphite film hidden in every smart phone, laptop, tablet and flat screen monitor.
The film is crucial to keeping the myriad electronic parts crammed into the small devices from overheating.
It's one of a number of products created and manufactured by GrafTech's Engineered Solutions Division…
