Phoenix™ to supply system for monitoring refractory temperature in ladles

The system will be delivered to their facility in Belgium and will be used in research projects to maximize the life of refractory products. Thermocouples set into the refractory will feed data back to a protected 20 channel data logger situated beneath the ladle to protect it from hot steel splashes. The logger protection system includes a thermal barrier using evaporating water to maximize the time in process, so enabling the data logger to operate through as many ‘heats’ as possible. The thermal barrier is designed to rotate through 90° without losing water, as the ladle pours the steel.
