Pennsylvania Grant to Help Cleveland-Cliffs Upgrade Mill Rail System
01/13/2023 - Cleveland-Cliffs Inc.’s Coatesville, Pa., USA, plate mill is improving its internal rail system and has received a US$1.4 million state grant in support of the project.
According to an announcement from Pennsylvania state Sen. Carolyn Comitta and state Rep. Dan Williams, the funding will support track rehabilitation at the mill's meltshop. The funding is derived from two state programs supporting rail freight infrastructure.
“For more than a century the mill has been one of the largest employers and key to our economy in the greater Coatesville area,” Williams said. “I’m proud to have helped bring this funding to Cleveland-Cliffs so they can complete critical upgrades to their internal rail system.”
