Paul Wurth Wins Order for Blast Furnace Equipment
02/12/2016 - SMS group subsidiary Paul Wurth has won a contract for two of its Bell Less Top charging systems, which are to be installed at a new Chinese ironmaking plant.
The order is from Shandong Rizhao Iron & Steel, which is building two blast furnaces, each with an inner volume of 5,100 square meters. The furnaces are some of the largest to be equipped with a central feed Bell Less Top system, according to the company.
The order is for all of the mechanical equipment, including material hoppers with 100-cubic-meter volumes, the cooling systems, parts of the hydraulic system, field mounted electrical and lubrication equipment and site supervision services for installation and commissioning.
The blast furnaces are to be commissioned in 2017 and 2018.
