Paul Wurth Secures Contracts to Outfit New Blast Furnace

In a statement, Paul Wurth said it will supply a Bell Less Top charging system; the hearth refractory lining with a ceramic cup and two sets of fully hydraulic tapping machinery; vertical copper stave cooler; and a top-gas cleaning plant; and the de-dusting systems for the stockhouse and casthouse.

Designated as the No. 7 furnace, it will have a hearth diameter of 9.8 meters, an inner volume of 2,200 cubic meters, 22 tuyeres and 2 tapholes. The furnace will be capable of producing 2.5 million metric tons annually.
