Paul Wurth Moves All North American Activities to Indiana; Closes Pittsburgh Office
08/14/2014 - In the frame of the reorganization of Paul Wurth’s business in North America, from 13 August 2014, all Paul Wurth activities have been moved to the office in Valparaiso, Ind.
The decision to close the office in Pittsburgh, Pa., and to run the Paul Wurth activities from the Valparaiso location is in line with the focus given to expanding the service and refurbishment business in the NAFTA region in close collaboration with customers. Indeed, major customers are located in the Northwest Indiana area. The infrastructure of highways and air transportation is ideal for Paul Wurth’s operations and gives the company excellent access to all other steel plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Consolidating the Paul Wurth offices in one place will also foster traditional business in engineering, supply of equipment and installations, the company said. Besides, it will make collaboration more efficient and therefore, better enable it to continue providing high level of service. Paul Wurth remains committed to the North American steel industry and will continue to respond as demanded by its customers. Further synergy potential with SMS group in the NAFTA market will complement its services in the interest of its customers.
