Paul Wurth Lands Order for Coke Battery Equipment
12/11/2019 - SMS group’s Paul Wurth subsidiary has been contracted to supply the pressure control system for two new coke oven batteries in China.
Paul Wurth said in a statement that it will supply its SOPRECO Single Oven Pressure Control Systems to Xiangtan Iron & Steel in Xiangtan, Hunan province. The top-charging batteries have 50 ovens each and stand 7.3 m high.
The first of the two batteries is to start up at the end of 2020.
The Xiangtan order represents the second project Paul Wurth has undertaken in China in the last several years, the first being Rizhao Iron & Steel’s cokemaking operations in 2017–2018.
