Parsytec to Supply Two More Surface Inspection Systems for ArcelorMittal USA
03/10/2008 - Arcelor Mittal will equip two pickling lines at their Burns Harbor facility with Parsytec’s espresso SI inspection solution.
Arcelor Mittal will equip their Burns Harbor Pickling Lines No. 1 and 2 with Parsytec’s espresso SI inspection solution.
The new system will provide real-time images captured by GigE digital cameras providing top and bottom side inspection in near-darkfield configuration. The system results in high quality images that enable online machine adaptations as well as more targeted process control.
The new inspection solution also incorporates Parsytec’s classification methodology, featuring the InstantClassifier™, which allows classification of even the very first defect images right after installation. Line-specific defects are recognized along with standard defects. Continuous classifier training will help ArcelorMittal USA use classification results to investigate defect root causes.
ArcelorMittal USA will combine its inspection data with process control data for building specific process control applications. The inspection data will also support the facility’s auditing purposes.
