Parsytec to Supply 2nd Surface Inspection System for SeverStal NA

05/07/2008 - Parsytec AG will supply a second hot mill surface inspection system for SeverStal North America’s facility in Dearborn, Mich.

SeverStal NA has placed an order with Parsytec AG for a second hot mill surface inspection system for their facility in Dearborn, Mich.
 
Parsytec will install the all-digital espresso SI system at Severstal NA’s Dearborn hot mill with a bottom side compact sensor. The inspection system will ensure quality for direct customer shipments as well as advanced feed-forward information for all downstream processes.
 
SeverStal uses Parsytec’s surface inspection systems worldwide—in Russia as well as in the U.S. In Dearborn, SeverStal produces mainly automotive-exposed steel for leading car manufacturers. Inspection is particularly important for this industry, which requires optimum quality control to achieve best output and high customer satisfaction. Parsytec’s expert classification environment (CBE) offers multi-staged classifier architecture to help support these requirements. The CBE also enables monitoring of classification performance to indicate optimal results over time.
