Arcelor-Mittal will employ Parsytec’s espresso SI surface inspection systems for several hot strip mills in America and Europe.

Parsytec’s espresso SI system will provide image quality, classification, data integration and advanced services. The first of the intended five systems has been ordered for the Burns Harbor, Ind., hot strip mill.

The espresso SI incorporates digital cameras and a fully Ethernet based system architecture. A fully capsulated sensor design minimizes integration effort, and a new classifier and imaging software boost recognition performance and help to support the quality management function.
