Pacific Steel Group to Build Rebar Micro-Mill
04/06/2022 - California-based rebar fabricator Pacific Steel Group is building a 380,000-ton rebar micro-mill in Mojave, Calif., USA, according to Metal Center News.
The company has contracted Danieli to supply a MIDA Hybrid micro-mill that will directly connect to renewable energy sources.
According to Metal Center News, construction of the mill will cost approximately US$350 million.
“We are excited about partnering with Danieli to build one of the cleanest, safest and most efficient steel mills in the world,” said Eric Benson, chief executive and chairman of the board of Pacific Steel Group.
Commissioning is expected in early 2025, and the facility will employ approximately 400 people.
