Called the Ovako Science & Visitor Center, the facility is intended to encourage collaboration between the company and customers on new and innovative steel solutions.

“We want the center to give visitors an overview of Ovako’s products and their applications in an interactive and inspiring way. It will provide opportunities for collaboration to identify and develop products that are optimally adapted for customer needs. Visitors to the center will also be able to take a virtual mill tour through Ovako’s production flow in an exciting way,” said Göran Nyström, executive vice president for group marketing and technology.

Hofors is the home of Ovako’s research and development unit, and the new visitors' center is adjacent to the unit’s new home, which it will be moving into this fall.
