Outotec to Acquire South African Mill Services Business
11/02/2015 - Outotec is acquiring South Africa’s Sinter Plant Services CC to complement its service offerings for the country’s ferrochrome market, Outotec has announced.
The deal is expected to close by the end of this year. Financial details are not being disclosed.
Sinter Plant Services provides spare parts and services to South African ferrochrome plants from its service center and manufacturing facility close to Johannesburg.
"Outotec has delivered sustainable Steel Belt Sintering and Preheating Kiln technologies to all major ferrochrome producers, many of which are located in South Africa. We intend to complement our service portfolio as well as increase local resources and sourcing to become a stronger service partner to our customers,” said Adel Hattab, Outotec’s EMEA region head, in a statement.
“This acquisition strengthens our position as a provider of life cycle solutions to the producers of ferroalloys,” he said.
Sinter Plant Services employs about 40 people.
