Outokumpu Products Awarded NORSOK Certification
11/16/2015 - Two products made from Outokumpu’s duplex stainless grade, Forta DX 2205, have been qualified as meeting a new and more rigorous NORSOK standard, the company has announced.
According to Outokumpu, it is one of the first companies to meet the more stringent Revision 5 of the MDS D47 in NORSOK M-650 Ed. 4.
The NORSOK standards are developed by the Norwegian petroleum industry and are designed to ensure adequate safety in petroleum projects. The NORSOK qualification covers Outokumpu 75 mm to 200 mm black bar and 70 mm to 170 mm peeled bar.
The qualifying company was Aker Solutions, which provides products and services to the oil and gas industry.
“To be awarded the landmark NORSOK qualification is an official recognition of Outokumpu Degerfors Long Products’ commitment to quality and development of our products for greater customer value. We welcome this recognition and continue our work to fulfill the expectations of the petroleum industry,” said Olle Källgren, Degerfors Long Products general manager, in a statement.
