Onesteel and MORE Sign Agreement for Polymer Injection Technology

Onesteel NSW Pty Ltd and MORE S.r.l have signed an agreement that will combine their extensive steelmaking and injection technology expertise to promote Polymer Injection Technology.
Polymer Injection Technology, developed by OneSteel in close collaboration with the University of NSW (Sydney-Australia), utilizes recycled tires and other polymers to improve the properties of foamy slag. The technology reduces carbon costs for EAF steelmakers, decreases electricity consumption and improves yields, and at the same time diverts tires from landfill. This Australian invention further reinforces the green credentials of EAF produced steel.
OneSteel's Strategic Marketing Manager, Darren O'Connell commented, "OneSteel is delighted to enter into a strategic partnership with such a highly regarded company such as MORE S.r.l. The combination of our renewable EAF injection technology and MORE's process technology solutions is a perfect fit."

OneSteel is Australia’s premier steel long products manufacturer with a long history of EAF and BOF steelmaking. OneSteel has been using Polymer Injection Technology in its Australian EAF facilities for over 42,000 heats and in the process has diverted the equivalent of over 1.1 million used tires from landfill.
MORE, based in Gemona del Friuli, Italy, is a world leader in EAF steelmaking injection technology and auxiliary equipment. MORE designs, manufactures and supplies high quality products for the Steelmaking industry focusing on technologies needed for Electric Arc Furnaces
