OMZ Project Leaders Receive State Awards
04/08/2010 - Leaders who contributed to a steelmaking facility commissioned at Izhorskiye Zavody (St. Petersburg, Kolpino) in June 2009 with financial and organizational support from Gazprombank have been recognized by the President of the Russian Federation.
Leaders who contributed to a steelmaking facility, which has an annual capacity of more than 250,000 tonnes of special steels, commissioned at Izhorskiye Zavody (St. Petersburg, Kolpino) in June 2009 with financial and organizational support from Gazprombank have been recognized by the President of the Russian Federation.
Farid Kantserov, OMZ Group Chairman and Gazprombank Deputy Chairman, was awarded the Order of the Merit for Country of the IV Degree, and Victor Shevchenko, Izhorskiye Zavody General Director, received the Order of Honor.
Dmitry Martynchik, General Director of the St. Petersburg Construction Facility #326, which built the facility, has also been awarded the Order of the Merit for Country of the IV Degree.
The aim of the production upgrade was to carry out government programs, including the long-term development program at state-owned nuclear power corporation Rosatom, the Russian Federation Chemical and Petrochemical Industry Development Program, Russian Federation Energy Strategy and the General Power Facility Commissioning Program.
The steelmaking facility is a foundation of the unified production and technological chain at Izhorskiye Zavody. It is capable of casting unique forging ingots of up to 600 tonnes, forgings of up to 350 tonnes, forged shells for nuclear reactors and petrochemical facilities of up to 5.5 meters in diameter, large two-layer and three-layer clad plates of up to 140 mm thickness and plates of up to 450 mm thickness, as well as performing final thermal processing in furnaces.
