OMZ Foundry Produces Large Castings for Shipbuilding Industry

Under an order from OAO Northern Shipyard, OMZ Foundry manufactured hull castings, including stern bossing and tail posts, for the leader ship Admiral Gorshkov commissioned in March 2010. Preparations for the production of similar items for the second frigate of the series, Admiral Kasatonov, are under way.
Following an order by OAO Admiralty Shipyards, OMZ Foundry is producing a set of castings, with an overall weight of more than 200 tonnes, for the new polar scientific vessel. Castings of stern posts and tail posts have already been made.
A contract had been signed with OAO TsS Zvezdochka, Severodvinsk, for the delivery of six screw propellers of 2.8 m diameter and 6.1 tonnes each. The delivery will be controlled by the Russian Shipping Registry.
