OMK Plans New Seamless OCTG Mill
02/19/2019 - Danieli has won an order for a seamless pipe mill from Russian oil country tubular goods producer OMK.
In a statement, Danieli said the mill, to be built at the company’s Vyksa Steel Works, is being designed to annually produce 500,000 metric tons of seamless casing and tubing, line pipe and industrial pipe in diameters ranging from 2.875 inches to 10.75 inches.
Danieli said the mill largely consists of a hot rolling line that incorporates its Fine Quality Train technology and finishing equipment.
“We are pursuing our long-term strategy of developing an integrated product offering. When the project is complete, our company will be able to break into new market segments by offering customers quality products that meet the most advanced requirements,” said OMK chief investment and asset development officer Dmitri Chernyshev.
In addition to the equipment, Danieli will provide the plant engineering and oversee installation and commissioning. Danieli Automation is supplying the process control and product tracking systems.
Commissioning is scheduled for 2021.
