In a statement, Danieli said the mill will be designed to annually produce 200,000 metric tons of long products. It will make rounds, rebar and light profiles, but a emphasis will be placed on making spring steel flats for truck crossbows. 

Grades will include low- and medium-carbon steel as well as spring and stainless steels.  Size ranges will include deformed bar in diameters of 10- to 40-mm; smooth rounds in diameters of 20- to 70-mm; flat bars from 40x4.5-mm to 120x57 mm; equal angles from 50- to 100-mm; and channels up to 100 mm.

Danieli’s scope of supply covers engineering and mechanical systems, from the reheating furnace through rolling and finishing services, automated process controls and its Q3 intelligence system. 

Start-up is set for 2021.
